Privacy at InfoBrick
What we keep, why, for how long, and what we never do. Questions, or a request to see, correct or delete what we hold about you: .
If you have an account
- Your email address and how you sign in (Google or a link by email), to let you in.
- The homes you value, to show them back to you and to measure how accurate our values are.
- What you tell us about a home under "Your home". It moves your own valuation and nobody else's (a rent you enter is the one exception, below).
- A bid you tell us about, only when you tick the box. It is pooled with bids from at least five other people on at least five homes before anything is shown, never shown on its own, and you can delete it at any time.
- A rent you enter for a home you let, with its details or in a list of homes. Beside your own check, it is pooled into what similar homes nearby let for: shown only once at least five homes from at least five landlords stand behind a figure, as a range, never as any one home's rent.
- A bid plan you make opens for anybody you send its link to. You can withdraw it, after which the link opens nothing.
If you do not have an account
- A browser id in a cookie (
piq_guest, one year), to count the free homes you open each day. - Your network address, hashed with the date, for the same count. The hash changes every day and is deleted after two days; the address itself is not stored.
Counting visits
To know how many people use InfoBrick and how, we count visits ourselves, on our own servers. Nothing is sent to an analytics company or outside the EU.
- Each day, month, quarter and year has its own random key. A visitor is counted as a code made with that key from your account, your browser id, or your network address and browser. When the period ends, its key is deleted, after which nobody, including us, can link a count to you or to your visits in another period.
- Your network address is used for a moment to look up the country and province it belongs to, and is not stored.
- We count how many homes are opened and how often, not who opened them.
- The counts are kept for 25 months; the totals per period, which contain no personal data, are kept longer.
- We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and pricing the service (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). It is designed to have little or no effect on your privacy, which is why there is no cookie banner for it.
Cookies and your browser
piq_session: keeps you signed in.piq_guest: the browser id above.- Your theme, recently viewed and saved homes are kept in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
What we never do
- Sell or share your data with advertisers.
- Show anybody what you told us about a home, or a bid of yours on its own.
- Use third-party tracking or advertising scripts.
